I ordered this knife because I saw it on sale for 15 bucks and some change. It’s an old timer…. It’s not an ESEE or Zero Tolerance but it’s not $100 plus either. It arrived shaving sharp, it’s sturdy, I love the long handle! It will make an excellent skinning or outdoors knife. Will it baton or make feather sticks? Who cares, I certainly don’t. It cuts, it locks securely in the sheath, it is comfortable in the hand and it was on sale on Amazon for 15 bucks! Worth every single penny!
Nice, solid. Very comfortable handle
I am not a fan of plastic or rubber ...old school wood handles I prefer. But these offer great grip. Came reasonably sharp. Worth the price. A good starter camp knife
Learned my lesson on cheap knives. I bought this to go on the 4 wheeler as a spare. Ended up having to use it to skin out a deer in a pinch. Blade cracked and chipped when popping the ball joint in the hind quarter, slightest bit of side pressure and it cracked. Skinned hundreds of animals, never seen that before. Buy something better.
This knife is very sharp and solid. The handle is a little bigger than you would expect but grip is comfy and slip-resistant. Old Timer should come out with more 8CR steel knives. This knife feels like it will last just like it’s companion knife.
This honestly is a great little budget knife for under $20. However, it is being falsely advertised as D2 Steel, seller even specifically claimed that in the response to questions above. Once it arrived right on the packaging it states Cr8 steel. D2 and Cr8 Steel are not the same thing, and the seller should know this.
The handle is out of proportion to the size of the blade. There are no complaints about the blade itself - the sharpening is good, it cuts paper easily. The plastic scabbard is well made for its price. The knife is middling.
