It’s hard to believe how nice this knife is at this price point. Lord knows I own a ton of knives and swords, and really didn’t “Need” another one, but I’m sure glad I bought this. The blade was a razor right out of the sheath and it appears to be well made (time will tell) and I like the D2 steel. Handle to blade fit is quite nice and the sheath is simple, attractive and functional; it holds the blade well. I’ve taken it on several hunting/scouting trips already and plan to take it again. My only “Complaint”? I’d like to have seen the grooves in the handle cut a little deeper for a better slip resistant grip. Not a problem; having made knives and handles myself, I simply ground out the various grooves deeper. Problem resolved. If your looking for a solid, attractive and functional EDC/outdoors knife, you can’t go wrong with this.
Trying to put this logically; stunning. Sharp edge that shaves and probably should not have tried the old table leg apparently, but she will get over it. Everything just is wow from sheath to a green and black handle that stands out from the leather medium brown. The best consolidation of all thoughts right now, including perfect fit in hand, this is the Goldilocks camp knife I have been looking for (how they say it this day, your milage may very). Price point is low enough and quality high enough (both blade and sheath). You feel the quality which is impossible to explain like saying this smells so good.Spring through early fall, this is going to be my camping knife. Difference between survival, camping, bushcraft and homesteading is duration. Kinfe is only worth it if you are willing to use it and then it lasts that duration. Even the sheath is probably going a decade, like my Buck 119 and same side snap lay out.Second knife from the company and they are made well apparently consistent quality, this will probably be more about your hand and the grip. I cannot get the pictures to upload, so feel free to tag and ask.
If I was reviewing the knife alone without the sheath, I would have given the product 5 stars. The "leather" sheath is made of cheap vinyl, flimsy, and is basically useless. I would have gladly paid an extra 20 bucks above retail for a sturdy leather sheath to go along with this very nice camping knife. The design of the knfe is simple, sturdy, and not bad to look at. 4 mm thick with a little bit of weight, the blade flat grind, D2, and delivered sharp as hell. The wood handle ( made of "pineapple wood"?, not sure what that is) is boxy and on the fat side. The overall fit and finish of the knife is nice, especially considering the low price. The knife keeps a good edge, heat treating is probably good. I didn't go out and pound on it with a log, cutting up fire wood like those guys do on YouTube when they test new knives. Knives are for cutting, not prying or chopping fire wood. But,this knife is heavy enough to use in an emergency if needed, and can take abuse if you left your hatchet back at camp. I spend alot of time outdoors and would not hesitate to carry this knife, nor would I freak out if I lost it either. Its a 40 dollar knife that works.
Don't play with it because my 52yr old self found out it's sharp as a razor blade. Top two sharpest knifes I ever owned..great sheath, not cheap..wear it often ,,Ky country boy approved.
What:* High quality material* Full tang* Leather sheathing* Basic sharpnessThe knife feels high quality & it is full tang. When I received it; it has basic sharpness and a quality Sheathing. It feels strong but since it came with basic sharpness; I ended up sharping it to the paper point. I like it and may purchase another.
I purchased the bowie one with the hilt like in the video. The nice is ok. Very good for it's price. It's not a polished finish, it's a coating and I'm sure with use will flake off. The sheath is freaking horrible. Don't believe the people that say it is a good sheath. Fake leather, rivits are poor, belt loop moves from left to right and the retaining strap has to be put in the other side of the knife pulls right out. The knife blade is about 5 degrees off the handle downwards and id of preferred it straight. The rat tank is slightly visible in the top of the hilt, both sides so that's irritating. But for 26 dollars I can make do. I made a nice much better actual leather sheath and it is much nicer now.
you don`t expect much for $30. but you get a lot for this knife. its a nice size, the handle is sculpted enough & thick enough for a good grip, no problems there. I wear an XL glove & the handle fits me like it was made for me. It has shallow recesses that my fingers naturally rest in. the blade is shaped well & is paper cutting sharp. There are no flaws or mistakes in the blade, it is symmetrical and smooth, the edges on the blade top are rounded well. I like the widely spaced jimping on the top of the blade. The scales fit seamlessly on the full tang blade, no gaps or unmatched edges at all. The sheath seems well made too. No, I didn't baton the knife thru a hickory log or use it as a crowbar, but I think it will do what I expect a decent knife to do. It's Amazon, don't like it send it back. You won't.
To be frank, I bought this because I liked how it looked. When I got it and used it, I liked it even more. It holds an edge well, the grip is way less slippery than I expected, it has held up in rain, cold, and snow. It does what it's supposed to, cut. It handles well in my hands. The sheath is, at best, okay. Will it safely hold the knife? Yes. The stitching is just okay. The tooling is just okay. The leather is just okay. It will not last long term though. Earnestly, the knife deserves a better sheath (so I built a new one). That seems to be a cliche in the knife industry now.
could easily put a hole in the side of an old car door and i didn't have to sharpen it after. not indestructable but super sturdy!
Came sharp feels good in the hand looks great solid knife for everyday or bushcraft I use it as my hunting knife its kept its edge well to 5 stars but i give the sheath 3.5 its not bad but kinda loose feels like it might fall out in some adventures worth the money
