Great little pocket knife. Knives are sharp from the moment I opened it. Very sturdy and great craftsmanship. Downfall for me is it’s hard for me to open the knives but maybe with time and a little oil it will get easier. I have nails that break easy and so I have a hard time opening the knives. I will find a workaround it’s a great knife otherwise.
Not the same as the Old Timer it replaces, but the stainless steel blades don't stain, and hold an edge well.
This small knife is a replacement for one that arrived two weeks ago with a broken back spring. The small 108OT is shown compared with my 8OTB big brother. The little guy is almost perfect. That center pin that many folks mention as not being flush on both of these knives (Proud as one reviewer stated) is flat on one side of the little guy and still raised and rounded on the other side. Other than that, very happy with this 108OT.
Growing up in the country, daddy always had a pocket knife. And his was another 4 letter brand because he said that’s what Grandpa had. I always begged him for a pocket knife. He broke down in my tween years and got me an Amazing Old Timer knife. I took it with me everywhere! I used it for everything because I’ve always made projects and art by hand. When my grandpa died, come to find out, the Old Timer pocket knife he gave me was one of grandpas that he kept in his sock drawer. I gave that Pocket knife to my dad for safe keeping and he offered to buy me an $89 4 letter knife and I refused. It took me a little while but I found this knife that is, as far as I can tell, is exactly like grandpas. It’s so well made and has a great weight to it. It’s not flimsy at all but not so bulky it’s hard to work with. And I honestly thought I might be buying a knockoff because the price was so unbelievably low. I use it daily and frequently have it sharpened and cleaned. I hope to pass it down to my nephew one day, if I don’t try and take it with me to give one back to grandpa.
My brother had been asking for a pocket knife like the one our dad use to have. So I found this one and it was the perfect size my brother loves it.
Great value for the price
Very nice, thank you.
I have had several of old-timer knifes. they are some of the best. Last year's hold a good sharp blade.
It' s very hard to open, broke my nail.
I'm happy to see that Schrade continues to make quality knives and now I can retire my Dad's Old Timer I found in the bottom of his old tackle box.
